Come out for “Lunch with Santa” at the Northern Shores Recreation Center. Children ages 12 and under can participate in this holiday-filled event with a donation of one new, unwrapped toy per child that will be donated to a local charity. Adults wishing to have lunch can do so for $5 per person. Not only can children share their lists with Santa, they can also play games for fun prizes and take a free professional photo with Santa. Registration forms are available at the following Joint Use Facility sites: Booker T. Washington Recreation Center, Creekside Recreation Center, Mack Benn Jr. Recreation Center, Northern Shores Recreation Center, and Oakland Recreation Center.

The tour is the quintessential event of the holiday season! This is the Suffolk-Nansemond Historical Society’s 40th annual holiday tradition of touring some of Suffolk’s most historic and interesting homes in a variety of architectural styles and period.

Tickets are available in advance for $20 each at the Suffolk Visitor Center (524 N. Main Street), Seaboard Station Railroad Museum (326 N. Main Street), A. Dodson’s (2948 Bridge Road), or for $25 on tour days at each site.

Suffolk’s rich heritage dates back to the early 17th century, when Captain John Smith first encountered the Nansemond Indians on the Nansemond River. Even now, you can trace Suffolk’s legacy through our historic homes and neighborhoods, churches and Virginia Civil War Trails. Guided by a Suffolk historian, you meet the people and places that made Suffolk the city it is today. Highlights of this windshield tour include Cedar Hill Cemetery, Riddick’s Folly House Museum, Constant’s Wharf, College Court and Suffolk’s Historic Lakeside neighborhood.

A Tennessee Christmas includes a mix of vocal and instrumental songs that celebrate the holiday season. The concert spotlights Meagan and Jason’s vocal harmonies with a variety of pop, country, jazz, and intimate acoustic arrangements of Christmas classics old and new. Meagan’s “fingerstyle” guitar and Jason’s “slip note” piano pay tribute to the signature sound made famous by Meagan’s uncle, Chet Atkins, and Jason’s grandfather, Floyd Cramer.

A Tennessee Christmas is sure to be an audience favorite and a holiday classic!

“A Tennessee Christmas” will be performing the Suffolk Center’s main stage on Saturday, December 3, at 8pm.
